Our Story

The Zero Discrimination Association was founded in Istanbul in 2009 by a group of activists and volunteers to work on issues concerning all disadvantaged groups, especially Roma and communities living like Roma, both nationally and internationally.

The association carries out activities to integrate economically, socially and culturally disadvantaged communities in order to develop in terms of socio-cultural aspects and to integrate society against prejudice and discrimination against these communities within the framework of dialogue and solidarity.

In order to prevent human rights violations stemming from discrimination, we are in contact with both policy makers, different segments of society and those who are discriminated against. Because the basis of many human rights violations experienced by disadvantaged groups, especially the Roma community, lies in the problem of discrimination.

The Zero Discrimination Association carries out activities in solidarity with other civil organizations that advocate for the prevention of rights violations and discrimination experienced by disadvantaged groups, especially Roma and communities like Roma, and to develop dialogue between Public Institutions and Roma Civil Society Organizations.

The Zero Discrimination Association carried out many activities and projects with limited budget and human resources between 2009-2017 to solve the problems experienced by Roma groups (Roma, Dom, Lom and Abdal). The association has carried out advocacy and lobbying activities to solve the problems experienced by the Roma and continues to provide capacity support to local Roma associations.
