Elmas Arus, a young Roma-origin Turkish director, has been awarded the first Raoul Wallenberg award by the Council of Europe for her efforts to improve the living conditions of Roma and highlight discrimination against them. The award will be presented on January 17, 2014, in Strasbourg.
