We hosted our esteemed lecturer Nilgün Toker at Another Politics School.
Olof Palmes International Center and ABF supported our Another Politics School, where we hosted our esteemed lecturer Nilgün Toker.
In the session themed "Discrimination," Nilgün Toker deeply explored the social, economic, and cultural dimensions of discrimination. She highlighted the forms of discrimination experienced in areas such as gender, ethnicity, and disability. Nilgün Toker emphasized that discrimination is not only an issue between individuals, but a phenomenon fed by a systematic structure.
Nilgün Toker stated that the impacts of discrimination not only leave deep wounds on a personal level but also in social memory. She explained to participants how combating discrimination is not just a struggle for rights, but also the construction of social solidarity. "Fighting discrimination is not only about rights, it is also about the building of social solidarity," she said.
The session led to important discussions on strategies for combating discrimination and how social change can be achieved.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Nilgün Toker for her contribution to Another Politics School!
