Applications for the EU Award for Roma Integration are now open.
The European Commission, DG NEAR and Roma Active Albania launched the call for applications for the 5th EU Prize for Roma integration in the Western Balkans and Turkey.
The Award aims to recognise the work done by individuals and civil society in the Western Balkans and Turkey to improve the social inclusion of Roma.
The focus of the 2023 prize will be on the Roma inclusion dimension in the #digital agenda and #green economy, which in the future offer new opportunities to improve the position of vulnerable Roma women and men in the region.
The 2023 EU Roma Integration Prize will encourage private or public initiatives from a variety of relevant Roma and non-Roma actors (public institutions, private companies and businesses, employers, teachers, civil society organisations) focusing on enhancing the role of Roma both in implementing and benefiting from the #digital agenda and the #green economy.
The competition is open to both self-nominations (direct applications from the initiative seeking the award) and nominations from other stakeholders wishing to draw attention to a relevant initiative.
