Erdogan met with Roma people in Istanbul

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated, "No one can be treated as a fraction," and conveyed the message, "I now want my Roman citizens to live humanely." Erdoğan also targeted genocide allegations, saying, "We will render the filthy accusations attributed to us null and void."

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, "These lands have, throughout history, embraced the oppressed, the aggrieved, those left by the wayside, the marginalized, the excluded, and those displaced from their homeland and soil."

In his speech at the "Roman Meeting" held at the Abdi İpekçi Sports Hall, Erdoğan mentioned that for thousands of years, languages, beliefs, colors, and different ethnic groups have coexisted in peace and tolerance on Anatolian soil.

Erdoğan expressed that Anatolia is a great oak tree with a different flower blooming on each branch, and noted that the Turkish word "gönül" (heart) has no equivalent in other languages. He explained that all inhabitants of these lands have, for thousands of years, opened their hearts to one another, welcomed each other with affection, and have been brothers, relatives, friends, and companions.
