According to an old but still used phrase, Roma are considered the "seventy-two and a half" nation alongside the seventy-two nations of the world. Buçuk is a comprehensive study on Roma by Elmas Arus, who is of Roma origin, and her husband Haluk Arus, covering thirty-eight provinces in seven regions of Turkey. The documentary tells the stories of Roma, Lom, and Dom across Turkey, highlighting their cultural differences, social structures, traditions, internal conflicts, and socio-cultural and economic dilemmas.
