Mentors Wanted for Roma Education Fund Scholarship Programme!
Within the scope of the project "Increasing Educational Opportunities for Roma Youth in the Western Balkans and Turkey" funded by Zero Discrimination Association with the support of the European Union (EU) and Roma Education Fund (RARE), mentoring support will be provided to increase the academic performance and graduation levels of Roma students and to prevent students from dropping out of school.
Within the scope of the Roma Education Fund RARE Scholarship programme, mentors with experience in working with Roma youth will be recruited for this project, which is aimed at Roma youth attending high school and university.
Four mentors will be selected to work with high school students and will be based in different provinces (Edirne, Istanbul, Izmir and Hatay). For university students, 2 mentors will be recruited and will work at national level. Each mentor will work with 15 students.
The responsibilities of the mentors will be as follows
- Needs assessment: Assessing the needs of students who are eligible for scholarships,
- Monitoring the development of student performance: Creating an individual portfolio for each student, including needs assessment, academic data, development plan, schedule of mentor and student meetings, meeting notes and other relevant data,
- Mentoring and coaching meetings: Organising fortnightly meetings with fellows,
