We came together with the esteemed artist and designer Bagey Akbay at Another Politics School.
During "Another Politics School" hosted by Şişli Municipality, we met with the esteemed artist and designer Bager Akbay. In the session themed "The Future Awaits Us," Bager Akbay deeply explored the impact of art on social change.
Akbay emphasized the power of art to question social issues and raise awareness on these matters. He highlighted the importance of creativity and critical thinking in increasing sensitivity and finding solutions to social problems. Akbay stressed that individuals developing their creativity is a critical step towards social transformation, stating that art empowers individuals and paves the way for social change.
He also spoke about the ability of art to foster social dialogues. Akbay stated that art is not only a form of expression but also a communication tool, explaining that artworks can interact with viewers to create new meanings.
The experiences of the participants also contributed to developing new perspectives on the impact of art on social change.
