We were in Barcelona for the General Assembly of the European Network of Roma Grassroots Organisations (ERGO).

Between 18-21 June 2024, we were in Barcelona, Spain for the European Network of Roma Grassroots Organisations (ERGO) @ergo.network General Assembly.

During the General Assembly, we focused on strengthening ERGO's relations with its members as an umbrella organisation and the members' relations with this umbrella organisation. We discussed in depth the issues of increasing the financial and institutional capacities of Roma civil society organisations struggling together with grassroots organisations locally, improving member relations and increasing the visibility of the struggle for rights locally, nationally and internationally. We also took important steps to strengthen our links with intersectional rights struggles.

During the General Assembly, we visited the Lacho Baji Cali association, which is one of the best examples of Roma communities' cooperation with local authorities. During this visit, we listened to inspiring experiences of Roma women's struggles that have brought positive changes in the lives of Roma women, girls and young people, and who believe in the holism of change and social peace. Their stories once again showed us what a difference we can make in the Roma community.

These experiences further strengthened our belief and determination in the struggle for Roma rights. Together, we will continue to work to build a fairer and more equal future.
