Within the scope of the Wellbased project, in Edirne, “Edirne: Application Examples” meeting in Edirne.
Within the scope of the Wellbased project, which we carried out for the first time in Turkey in partnership with Zero Discrimination Association, Edirne Municipality and Demir Energy to ensure access to energy poverty and energy justice for Roma citizens, on 7-8 February 2024, we held the "Edirne: Practical Examples" meeting in Edirne on 7-8 February 2024.
The WELLBASED project is a European project supported by the European Commission's HORIZON 2020 programme. In this project, a team of various experts is working to reduce energy poverty and its impacts on the health and well-being of our citizens. In six different pilot cities, representing different urban realities - Valencia (Spain), Heerlen (Netherlands), Leeds (UK), Edirne (Turkey), Obuda (Hungary) and Jelgava (Latvia) - we are developing evidence-based advocacy and policy making:
Assess the impact of public policies and interventions on reducing energy poverty
Defining a common methodology and contributing to urban programme design
Contributing to the implementation of the urban programme
Focus group work to plan the intervention together
Access to energy justice for Roma citizens is critical for social equality and justice. As Zero Discrimination Association, we will continue to support the work carried out in this field and raise awareness
